Paint the Town ‘Yella’

Shooting Location:
 Upson County, Georgia    Year: 2017-Present
While documenting small town Georgia, I became aware of the local gardening club’s initiative to “paint the town yellow.” This would be accomplished by planting Daffodil bulbs in the fall to bloom in the early spring. While I was shooting I started to notice that same golden yellow in the landscapes around me. A line of paint in the road, the shutter of a historic shotgun house, and a pick up truck were all connected by color. A companion portrait series will be completed in spring of 2018 along with the bloom.
